Learn How To Advertise on Zango

November 4th, 2008

Here is the recording of last nights call along with your action plan.

Get Started With The Basic Set Up Here:

http://adservices.zango.com/Advertise/GetStarted.aspx

Think of keyword campaigns–each campaign represents a keyword theme–ie, personal development, home based business, competitors, affiliate marketing, how to make money, franchise business would all be good campaign ideas you can use to get the ball rolling.

Keywords can be “keywords” and URLs like www.keyword.com

We discussed several ways to come up with ideas-

Remember the different types of keywords there are–

Browser (home business)

Shopper ( best home business to start)

Buyer (how to succeed in XYZ company)

Go for keywords that target people further into the buying cycle.  Don’t obsess over this however.

AVOID TERMS LIKE “SALES JOB” or “WEALTH MANAGEMENT”  they will run up your budget and get you no leads or very expensive leads.  Similarly avoind www.entrepreneur.com and go for

http://www.entrepreneur.com/bizstartups/index.html instead.

Google Keyword Tool

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Another way would be to individually copy and paste urls and advertisers from the search engine results page into your account or brainstorm your keyword ideas and use http://www.spyfu.com to generate keywords and URLs.

Also consider keyword elite–see the link on the right column of this blog. (simple easy keyword tool)

I recommend Beau Reed’s Zango Guru course.  It is a very effective tool that will teach you these strategies.

Once you have 4-6 campaigns with about 400-500 keywords and URLs adjust your bids to an hourly bidding strategy.

Then click advanced Settings to “schedule” your ads.  I shut mine off at night.

This will reduce your budget, and keep it under control.

**** GET CONVERSION TRACKING INSTALLED ON YOUR WEBSITE–DO NOT TURN YOUR CAMPAIGN ON UNTIL IT IS INSTALLED****

** your conversion tracking code is found on the main page of your Zango account**

How To Optomize

Run your conversion tracking report daily and look for keywords and URLs that cost $1 or more and did not get you a lead.  Delete these.

Take keywords that did get you leads and start a new campaign that only has keywords that produce leads for you.  These are the only ones you will adjust your budget.  Leave everything set to the minimums Zango does for you.

At the end of your first week run the report for a bigger time span (the entire 7 day week) and eliminate keywords that cost $1 and got you NO leads. Sometimes a keyword will cost you 35 cents per day, but you will not see this when running a daily report.  At the end of each week, run a weekly campaign to really weed out non performing keywords.

Every time you start a new campaign and add several hundred keywords you will want to log in and run your conversion tracking daily.

Eventually this can be done on a monthly basis, follow these steps and you are on your way to $3 leads!

Enjoy the recording of the call.  The download link is available as well.

How To Become An Internet Millionaire

October 31st, 2008

5 Stupid Simple Ways To Strike Out On Your Own And Become An Internet Millionaire

Here we go…

1. Not all businesses are created equal.  Signing up as a distributor and selling vitamins or supplements to replace one’s near six figure income does not appeal to while collar people and other professionals.  The days of building an empire of distributors underneath you who market a lower cost nutritional supplement or household item so that one day in the future you can build a substantial monthly residual income check are over.  As Mike Dillard wrote in his infamous “Coffee House Letter”, why not Get Paid Today.  Your take away is to find a business with an upfront high profit commission where you can earn at least $1,000-$5,000 per sale.

2. Realize that your road to internet millions will not be paved with gold.  If you expect it to be a walk in the park you are better off buying a lottery ticket.  There will be hurdles and obstacles to get over, but you will not have the overhead, and expenses a brick and mortar business does.

3. Never be boring!  There are so many free ways to market yourself, and so many lame brains regurgitating the same old things.  You must entice people. Whether it’s a 3 line text ad in Google Adwords or a press release–make it sexy, and enticing.  Your goal is to make people take action.

4. Develop an insatiable appetite for knowledge-Learn all the aspects of your trade.  If you ask me it comes down to 3 areas.  Mindset, Sales, and Marketing.  You cannot out perform yourself image, and the one who markets and promotes the best gets the cheese.   If you do not know what I mean my self image, check out the classic Psycho Cybernetics.

5. You can’t wear all the hats.  I am pretty tech savvy, and can make simple websites with an HTML editor called Page Breeze.  It rocks.  But, I do not have the time or patience to learn photoshop or dream weaver.  Outsource those tasks by finding a designer at www.elance.com.  It’s a great place to find work that you cannot do yourself.  Even stupid things like an operating system re-install can devour time.  Find the balance.  I am somewhat tech savvy, but that 5 minute Wordpress install took me much longer than 5 minutes.  Somethings you will want to hire out and some you won’t.  Here is a good way to look at it.

If you are going to spend time on something–learn a skill.  You are better off spent learning Google Adwords and mastering it, because in the process you will at a minimum learn what a good campaign manager will do for you, this alone will save you hundreds should you outsource down the line.  Bottom line is to recognize what activities will produce income and take care of those first.

How To Avoid Shot Gun Marketing

October 12th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Here are 5 questions you want to ask yourself as you are out there becoming successful marketers, and business people.

1.  Do you currently have a PROFITABLE advertisement running for your network marketing business? (Profitable means the influx of cash from enrolling new distributors and customers exceeds that of the cost for the ad.)
2. Do you have a lead generation system in place that converts a good percentage of your visitors into prospects? (An automatic “lead machine” that transforms visitors into qualified prospects for your MLM)
3. Do you have a recruiting process that transforms your hottest prospects into customers and distributors that doesn’t require you to do any the selling?
4. Do you know how to create advertising copy that penetrates your readers minds and induces action?
5. Do you have your advertising down to a science, meaning you know just how many visitors it takes to get a qualified lead, how many leads to get a new distributor… in other words, CAN YOU ACCURATELY MEASURE and project your return on investment for every ad dollar you spend and every phone number you dial?

If you answered No to any of these questions you are guilty of Shot Gun Marketing.

Your best approach is to be Scientific!  Over the next few weeks you I will be teaching you how to sharpen your swords and become very effective marketers!

Until then stay tuned!

Best,

Eric Dick

Zango Guru Review

October 12th, 2008

Beau Reed is right, the average newbie home business owner will get their shirts taken if they go on Google and load up their Adwords account with broad generic terms like “home based business” As of writing you are looking at about $2 per click to be on the first page, in the last spot mind you. You do not want to be in the 1st position anyway but this is not a Google conversation.

Most new home business owners also do not know how to write an effective 3 line text ads that attract serious entrepreneurs. That’s why Zango Guru is so great. You do not need to know how. Zango provides content on the internet and in exchange for viewing this content, users agree to have advertisements shown.

Besides keywords like internet business or entrepreneur, you can bid on websites that have articles about starting your own business and your website will pop up in front of people viewing it. There are over 20,000,000 people using Zango, so it’s pretty powerful.

Zango Guru gives you all the step by step instruction you need to master this and become an effective internet marketer. All you need is your website.

Go ahead and visit ZangoGuru.net and get the 3 free videos, they will be very informative and worthwhile. I bought the course and it really helped me make a ton of money in my business, I suggest you do the same!

The No. 1 Thing You Can Do

July 28th, 2008

The whole thing is wrapped around 1 idea or concept. Do you have an idea of what that is? This one aspect of how we view ourselves is the #1 reasonwhy people succeed, fail, or putter along. Are you afraid of your own success. People who are not afraid define a direction for themselves and get after it.This helps one overcome adversity and hit the goal. Being comfortable with success or even our own potential requires that we get to a destination in life. Having a vision & moving towards it with confidence.I am no guru or expert but I really think that people who float along through the ocean of life do so because ultimately they are afraid of their true potential. You may have heard the expression “you are where you are in life based on your mindset” totally true. You can’t out perform your self image. And as you know on any journey knowledge is attained, but what stops people from choosing where they want to be ultimately comes down to being afraid of our own potential. How can we move forward if we are afraid of the destination? The clearer we get on defining what we want will determine the actions we needto take. This goes hand in hand with why 2 people doing the same thin in the see profession are having completely different results. Why is this??One of them is ok with success, the degree to which we struggle is proportionate to how clear and comfortable we are with our highest potential.Cheers,Eric

Wordpress App for the iphone

July 27th, 2008

Wow this is pretty cool. You will need to update Wordpress to be compatible with the app bit you can blog from anywhere. I updated by myself, it’s easy for the experienced web person but might be tricky for someone new to the computer.

Are You A Moralizer???

July 24th, 2008

I am no psychologist, but I know my own excuses when I see them. I can also spot errors in my own thinking. I am self aware…I recognize.

Anyhow. I like nightclubs and techno music. When I was younger I wanted to be a club DJ, but would find myself thinking that it is wrong to entertain this type of crowd where people do drugs and cause some harm to themselves. Would it be OK for me to provide the soundtrack for this type of behavior? I started to think it wouldn’t be alright for me to go down that path. Well what about people and their own choices. What about the 1-5% of the crowd that really gets it that is there for the music, drinks moderately and is more concerned with their own good time than gossiping, and flaunting their D&G t-shirts(D&G Who) and bottle service. Shouldn’t we focus more on the people who get it?

I mean that’s cool and all but there was more of a vibe in nightlife without “VIP” scene you can buy your way into by ordering a $400 bottle of Grey Goose. Dont get me wrong I will happily partake, but I am getting off track.

Have you ever considered that people need to be responsible for themselves and that in this case, DJ’s promoters, and club owners aren’t responsible for their patrons behavior and if someone does harm themselves who’s fault is it? Themselves right. Same in nightlife same in business-online.

A number of years a go a former boss went to start his own restaurant and flopped. After 6 months and $400,000 later. His friends cautioned him to find a fixer upper. Not to play too big in your first venture. He didn’t want to listen. Perfect example of the E-Myth in real life. But who did this guy have to blame? No one. He did this all himself. No company to bash on the internet. No company to call a scam nothing…

Why do people play the blame game. Why do people create some type of bullshit moral debate about starting a business. Why do people bring God into it??

Have some people ever considered that God is sick of hearing their shit. He has given them all the smarts to determine if something is good for them and they need to “pray on it.”

Procrasterbation….cracks me up….

How The E-Myth Doesn’t Apply (as much)

July 15th, 2008

So I was reading the E-Myth by Michael Gerber, and I realized that people starting a home business have an advantage over other people starting traditional businesses, actually there are lots but I am not here to point out the obvious, like equipment, a facility or store front, employees, payroll etc. The one advantage I wanted to highlight was this.

We all have had that moment where it dawns on us that for whatever reason-not being appreciated by our boss, lack of pay, the commute you name it, that it makes sense to start a business. Now, most people start a business with a skill or trade they are already familiar with-consulting, carpentry, auto detailing, anything….

The problem is that our inner technition shows up looking for work and neglects all of the tasks involved in running a business. Most people are 80% tech 10% manager and 10% entrepreneur or dreamer. The problem is that we see the work that needs to be done and not how all of the pieces interact with eachother so that the whole thing will work. This is why businesses fail.

So coming into the home business industry is new for everyone-you have 3 simple tasks:

Place ads, speak to people and follow up. Of course it’s a little more complex than that-but usually there is a curriculum enmeshed with the opportunity that will help you start to think more like a business owner and less like an employee.

Can you get lost in some of the tasks-definitely, but there are a lot less distractions when you are in a new business that’s unfamiliar. Everyone gets the same tools, pick what you like, that’s it.
